32 applicants will receive grants in the call for sectoral projects in the Active Citizens Fund – National Programme, financed by the EEA Financial Mechanism. EUR 4.2 m will go to organisations conducting projects that provide support for the civic sector in Poland.

Almost EUR 10.5 m is available for social organisations in the second call for thematic projects in the Active Citizens Fund – National Programme. Those eligible to apply for grants include associations, foundations, social cooperatives, and rural housewife circles. Funds will be available for activities in three areas: (1) civic participation in public life and social activities, (2) defending human rights and promoting equality, and (3) empowerment of vulnerable groups. Project outlines must be submitted by 11 January.

223 Applicants will receive grants in the first call for thematic projects in the  Active Citizens Fund – National Programme. Most of the grants, as many as 100, were awarded for civic participation in public life and social activities, 65 were awarded for empowerment of vulnerable groups, and 58 were awarded for defending human rights and promoting equality. More than EUR 10.3 m will go to social organisations throughout Poland.

On Wednesday, 6 May a call will be launched for sectoral projects in the Active Citizens Fund – National Programme. Funding of between EUR 25 000 and 125 000 is available for organisations that work to develop the social organisation and civic movement sector on a nationwide level, in particular regions or sectors. Project outlines must be submitted by 30 June. The budget for the call is EUR 5 m.

In the first call for thematic projects in the Active Citizens Fund – National Programme, 1317 applications were received. Most of those applications, as many as 713, were for civic participation in public life and social activities, 424 were for empowerment of vulnerable groups, and 180 were for defending human rights and promoting equality. The deadline for submitting applications was 15 April.

A new grant programme was launched at a conference attended by representatives of the Polish Foreign Ministry and the Norwegian Embassy, and social organisations from Poland and donor states on 8 January. The aim of the programme is to strengthen and develop the civil society and active citizenship, and empower vulnerable groups.
