According to the Główny Urząd Statystyczny study, in the Leszczyński district (Wielkopolskie province) 24% of inhabitants are aged up to 19. At the same time, only one of seven communes has its Youth Council. Based on talks we had with young people from the district we know that they have limited opportunities to engage socially, even though they are very eager to broaden their knowledge and acquire new skills in this field. The only voluntary work they have done so far has been related to their school.
Hence, we will target our activities at youths from seven communes in our district. We will engage community animators who will prepare the diagnosis of local problems reported in every commune. In each of them we will recruit young leaders and volunteers. We will run for them a series of workshops on social participation and designing local projects. Each team will run one local initiative in their town or village, making a short film promoting social engagement and youth initiatives. For selected leaders and representatives of local authorities, we will organise a trip to Kujawsko-Pomorskie province, in which the number of youth organisations is high. During the trip we will organise an integration workshop. By the end of the project, we will organise a conference to present the outcomes of our activities.
